I shouldn't complain too much. The other day, I saw a giant bird dressed as a firefighter (or was it a firefighter dressed as a giant bird?) walking down the street holding a bunch of balloons, and no one gave him a second glance.

Just another day here in Ottawa.

There was a firefighter dressed as a Dalmation outside the firehouse here a couple of weekends ago.

The yellowdog growled at him.

Well, dalmations have some relation to firefighting. The only thing giant birds have to do with firefighting is the possibility of a barbecue gone horribly wrong.

I've always wanted to live in a world where giant mascots were actual creatures. The world would just be a nicer place.

That's not a story, that's just an idea.

If I had a story for it, I would have written it by now.

Neat. We're about to hit Fringe season in Edinburgh which means the streets filled with people in ornate / scanty costumes singing and handing out fliers while the locals pay no attention whatsoever.
